Your vehicle’s CV joints (or constant velocity joints) are typically found in front wheel drive vehicles, and some modern rear wheel drive cars with independent rear suspension also utilise CV joints. In front-wheel drive vehicles, the CV joint allows the drive shaft to transmit power to the wheels, without an increase in friction. And are critical in ensuring you can efficiently steer your vehicle.
THE IMPORTANCE OF CV BOOTS
CV boots are what protect the CV joints in your vehicle. Well maintained CV boots can cut down on the need for costly CV joint replacements. CV boots should be looked at as part of your regular service routine and replaced at the first sign of wear or damage. Damage to your CV boots will allow contaminants into the CV joints, and grease to leak out, causing the joint to wear excessively. By keeping the CV joints clean, we can prolong their lifespan.
